The pure YAGs are colorless, the introduction of impurities allows one to obtain various colors, for example, an admixture of chromium - green, cobalt - blue, manganese - red, titanium - yellow.

Colorless YAG is used as an imitation of diamond, and green is so similar to a demantoid that it is almost impossible to distinguish it visually.
